The 2015 Fall Trail Building Schedule is now posted. Be sure to check the website under the Rides and Events Tab -> Events subsection for information on each fall trail building event.

This Spring GORC volunteers devoted 1,850+ cumulative hours building and maintaining our region’s trails. GORC and Bike Surgeon hosted the Spring 2015 Fatbike raffle party at Bike Surgeon’s location in Shiloh, Illinois.

The successful spring trail building season has wrapped (1,800+ volunteer hours and counting!) and now it’s time to celebrate. So let’s throw a big party! GORC and Bike Surgeon have teamed up and Bike Surgeon will be hosting the raffle party at their location in Shiloh, Illinois on May 30th, 2015.

The spring 2015 trail building season is upon us and GORC wants to reward those who put in their time helping to build and maintain our region’s singletrack. GORC and Bike Surgeon have teamed up to offer an amazing prize, a 2015 Specialized Fatboy fat bike valued at $2,100.

GORC is currently seeking some new leadership roles in the form of trail stewards and it came to our attention that we say “trail steward” but we’ve never really explained it in words. We often take for granted the terms we use to describe certain items, tasks or responsibilities.

Mesa Cycles had their annual holiday party this past Friday, December 12th and added a generous twist by asking GORC to be part of their event. Many, many $10 donations with some ‘extra’ thrown in from time to time brought in $900.00 for the club in 2015.

The annual GORC Volunteer Appreciation party was held November 1, 2014 at Greensfelder Park. Over 50 folks gathered for a day of riding bikes, eating good food and hanging out with each other. Maplewood Bicycles brought coffee and doughnuts to get the poker riders in the spirit of the non-competitive ride.

Join us for the Alpine Shop’s third round of Pint Nights (aka Al-Pint Night)! From 6-9PM, Alpine Shop will sell limited edition pint glasses brought to you by Woolrich (while supplies last) for just $10. Each purchase comes with a beer and a ticket for one refill.

The most interesting stat is reporting that 54% of mountain bikers didn’t volunteer at their local trail systems to add mileage or keep the trails in good shape. I’d like to think that around St. Louis we have a good group of trail volunteers.

We are attaching our schedule as a PDF to this post. Feel free to print them out and distribute. We have a convenient quarter page version that saves trees and is easy on the ink.
