James Foundation/Maramec Spring Park is a proper rocky Ozark rollercoaster. Like any new trail it’s a little rough around the edges but ready for some tires and treads! Best place to park is the ‘Mine Overlook’ off the Historic Drive within the park. Currently this is the only MTB trail at the park which also has fishing, camping, a fantastic museum and even a café! The famous Joe Dirt ride can also be ridden from here. For the truly adventurous soul you can ride to Ballhooter from Forest City but you might get wet feet.
The trail is 3.5 miles of good old fashioned non-directional cross country with plenty of twists, turns, dips, berms, and elevation. It rides pretty good clockwise, but counter-clockwise has some sweet natural features, too.
