Rock Hollow - Trail Building Day #2

Registration is closed for this event

Date: October 24th, 2015 - 9am - 1pm

Location: Rock Hollow

What: We could use your help to get the trail completely connected from the pavement - where the trail crosses the other side - to the rock overhang.  STL County has been granted an Americorp team that will hopefully build the proposed reroute pending Wildwood's approval. This would fix the private land encroachment and completely connect the western half of Rock Hollow (low pavement entrance to high pavement exit if you start near the river). Lunch will be served by STLCo Parks. We'll be working from the rock overhang towards the paved trail and also from the pavement back toward the overhang to meet in the middle.

There is a LOT of trail to build, we hope for a good crowd. You can ride post-lunch at Bluff View or Al Foster to Castlewood, weather-permitting.

Where: Rock Hollow and Packwood Park, which will eventually be eight miles of new, multi-use trail in St. Louis County.

Meet at Ridge Meadows Elementary, 777 Ridge Rd, Ellisville, MO 63021.

Directions: Take I-44 west to 109 (first Eureka exit, before Six Flags exit), then go north on 109 to Old State Rd, turn right and follow Old State Rd 2.9 miles to Ridge Rd, where you’ll turn right and then right again into Ridge Meadows Elementary parking lot (look for “Welcome, Volunteers!” sign)—we’ll meet in grassy area on south side of parking lot.

What to bring: Gloves, Sturdy shoes, eye protection, and something to drink on the trail.

There may be a group ride afterwards - weather permitting, so bring your bike if you like.
