Build - Indian Camp Creek - Trail Building Day 10-31-20
Date: Saturday, October 31, 2020 - 9am - 1pm
Location: Indian Camp Creek. Parking Lot #4 - follow the signs for the GORC workday.
Build Plans: We will be doing some maintenance, couple small reroutes and armoring. Most of the items are small so we can break apart into smaller groups so that we can keep some social distancing. At this point there will be sandwiches and chips and water that will be served for lunch. We will have people meet at parking lot number 4 on the GORC map to start the day.
COVID-19 & Trailbuilding: As most trail crews are small, working outside of normal exposure to the public, trail building is an inherently “socially isolated” activity. GORC believes that utilizing best practices in maintaining a hygienic and safe work site can minimize the potential of exposure to COVID-19 for volunteers and the general public. We will require all volunteers to maintain a physical distance of 6' while working. If that is not possible, a mask will be required. If you feel sick or have been exposed to someone who has recently been diagnosed with COVID-19, please stay home. We will look forward to seeing you at a future trail build.
Directions: From Interstate 70, go north on Highway 40/61 for approximately seven miles to Dietrich Road (first left after passing W). Turn west on Dietrich Road for ¾ mile to the park entrance (on right). Once in the park, please follow the trail building signs to the meeting location.
What to bring: Gloves, Sturdy shoes, eye protection, and something to drink on the trail.
Lunch will be provided by St. Charles County Parks. If you would like a vegetarian sandwich, please let us know on our forum under the "Trail Building and Maintenance Announcments" - We usually have a topic for the trail build listed.
