The Ozark Trail Association presents the 2015 second annual OT100MTB race, and new for this year the trial size OT50MTB race. These mountain bike races are dedicated to raising funds for trail maintenance activities performed by Ozark Trail Association, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The OTA builds and maintains over 390 miles of backcountry trail (singletrack) in Missouri, all designated as “Ozark Trail”.
The “OT100MTB” is a point-to-point 100 mile endurance cross-country mountain bike race. This race is 98.5 miles of remote backcountry singletrack and 1.5 miles of gravel or pavement connectors. This mountain bike race will be very difficult and extremely strenuous. Please ensure you are properly trained to attempt this event. Do not over estimate your ability. This is remote single track. There are no services along this route other than the listed checkpoints. You should be fully self-sufficient. Cell phone reception is very limited. Last years top racer finished in just over 10 hours with average finishers around 15-17 hours. Be prepared. Awards Sunday at Noon with BBQ and Beer! Yes, you will be allowed drop bags at 4 major checkpoints and we will have returning Rock Star Checkpoint Teams from 2014!
The "OT50MTB" is a point-to-point 50 mile endurance cross-country mountiain bike race. This is a new race for those not quite ready to tackle the 100 mile version. Consider this your trial size and get a taste of some of the finest cross-country single track in the USA. Less than 1/2 mile of dirt/gravel road, the rest is manicured Ozark Trail singletrack. This race will start near the half way point of the OT100MTB course(Enough Boat Launch - Council Bluff Lake) and finish at Bass River Resort. Awards Saturday Evening with BBQ, Beer, and Bonfire! 1 Drop Bag at Berryman Campground - CP3 (Race mile 31) Water stops on course.
