First Sunday Ride

This is a fun No Drop social ride with a Hare and Hound format. The faster folks lead out and the not so faster folks chase after them. The idea is to ride our bikes and have fun; no one is left behind.

Please check the GORC website and forum to see if this ride is cancelled due to weather or other circumstances. 10am start time!

This rides takes place at Greensfelder at 10am. We will meet in the Visitor's Lot on Allenton Rd.  It is the loop parking lot at the intersection of Allenton and Hencken.  Look for a bunch of mountain bikers and if you don't know anyone in the group, ask if they are with the GORC First Sunday ride.

I-44 to Exit 261/Six Flags, right onto Allenton Rd. Follow Allenton up the hill to Hencken Rd. Turn right into the Visitor's Center across from Hencken Road.

First Sunday Group Ride at Greensfelder

Come on out for this first Sunday ride with GORC!  Gateway Off-Road Cyclists (GORC)'s Monthly First Sunday Ride at Greensfelder is a laid back group ride open to all.

This is an intermediate trail with lots of rocky sections, nice climbs, fun downhills and plenty of flowy singletrack. Course is generally a 10 -12 mile route starting at Visitor's Lot (lot at Allenton and Hencken intersection).  1st Sunday ride is a no-drop ride, meaning no one gets left behind with a hare and hound format - faster folks lead off and will regroup at forks, road crossings, etc.  If skill levels are vastly different, we may split up.  If you are an advanced rider and want a fast pace group ride with limited stops, check out the Advanced 1st Sunday ride scheduled at 9am.

FOR ADVANCED RIDERS - First Sunday Group Ride II at Greensfelder

This ride is for the fast folks - Historically, the 1st Sunday GORC rides at Greensfelder have been organized as a no-drop, hare-and-hound format which draws a great group of riders of all skill levels.

We want to introduce a duplicate 1st Sunday ride for the more intense, faster paced rider.  So if you are advanced level, want a fast paced ride with limited stops, post here.   When you are done with your 9am ride, join us at 10!
