Moonlight Ride at Bangert Island

Grab your bike, a light and hit the trails at night! Join us for a mountain bike ride through a different St. Charles County Park (SCCP) each month! This is the only way to ride some of your favorite trails after dusk! Rides are open to experienced cyclists. Riders must wear a helmet and have a 600 lumen light to experience park trails after hours.

GORC and SLAMB volunteers partner to manage these rides.  Registration with SCCP is optional but signing in and out at the trailhead is mandatory.  No glass bottles are allowed in the parks at any of these events.  In case of questionable weather/trail conditions, check the SCCP trail program hotline.  Hotline info and trailhead locations are listed below.

Required Items

You, your bike, a light, and a helmet. (Helmets and lights are mandatory to participate in the Moonlight Rides.) Please sign in and out. We use the sign in sheet for a head count so we don't leave anyone stranded in the dark. Thanks.

In Case of Bad Weather

The St. Charles County Parks Program Rainout Line 636-707-0011 will be the Official source of information in cases of bad weather/iffy trail conditions. THIS MAY CONFLICT WITH THE HOTLINE INFORMATION FOR A SPECIFIC TRAIL. We may open a trail that's been closed all day if it dries enough for the MOONLIGHT RIDE to take place. We will TRY to post the info here as well, but don't rely on it as your sole source of info.

SIGN UP FOR SCCP PROGRAM and/or TRAIL MOBILE, TEXT, OR EMAIL ALERTS HERE:  ST CHARLES COUNTY PARKS & REC RAINOUT LINE ALERTS   For cancellation alerts of the night rides in St. Charles county, make sure you select "Programs" on the following link, not just the trail.  Notifications of cancellations will also be posted on the GORC and SLAMB sites.
