Other Great Links
STL Biking has a huge list of everything bike-related here.
The Ozark Trail: http://www.ozarktrail.com
A great organization that exists to create, preserve and
promote the Ozark Trail. If you like riding backcountry
trails you should really become a member and even show
up for some fun work days.
Trailnet: http://www.trailnet.org/
TrailSource.com - TRAILSOURCE.COM is the largest and most popular source for mountain bike trail information since 1997 with over 4,000 trails online and 300,000 monthly visitors.
Shawnee Mountain Bike Association (Illinois): http://www.smbatrails.com
Illinois MTB Community: http://www.illinoismtb.com
Recreational Trails Program Website:http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/environment/rectrails/
The Recreational Trails Program funds hundreds of trail
projects coast-to-coast annually. The Federal Highway
Administration, who facilitates the program, has changed
their website considerably to make it more user friendly
and encourage clubs and communities to apply. Many IMBA
affiliated clubs have become experts at applying and building
trails with RTP funds.
Ski Resorts with Mountain Biking - NSAA Database
IMBA headquarters and our member clubs are doing more
work with ski resorts. Ski resorts are often ideal places
to provide downhill, freeride and cross country opportunities.
We encourage local IMBA reps and clubs to reach out to
their area ski resort for trail possibilities. The National
Ski Area Association (http://www.NSAA.org)
lists member ski resorts that have cross country trails
and lift operated access: http://nsaa.org/nsaa2002/_ski_area_info.asp?action=list&mode=prog
Grant Database - Toolbox for the Great Outdoors:
http://www.capitalsun.com/toolbox.html
The Toolbox contains multi-media overviews of 20 creative
tools and more than a billion dollars annually in potential
resources which can supplement traditional appropriations
to federal recreation-providing agencies. It was created
by the American Recreation Coalition.
F*cking Bike Club:
http://www.fuckingbikeclub.blogspot.com
It's a full moon night ride bike club in the city that likes to jam.
