Rock Hollow - Trail Building Day #1

Registration is closed for this event

Date: November 8th, 2014

Location: Rock Hollow

What: We will be CONTINUE constructing new singletrack trail. We will meet at the Glencoe parking lot for the little RR and lunch will be served by STLCo Parks.  We will continue building trail high on the hillside paralleling the paved trail. GORC will be continuing the work on the trail in Rock Hollow, building the 5+ mile loop around the hollow.  The new Americorps team, all 10 of them will be there, and we need the experienced GORC leaders and workers to show them and high schoolers that participate what to do.  STLCo Parks will serve lunch.

There is a LOT of trail to build, we hope for a good crowd. You can ride post-lunch at Bluff View or Al Foster to Castlewood, weather-permitting.

Where: Rock Hollow and Packwood Park, which will eventually be eight miles of new, multi-use trail in St. Louis County.

We will meet at the parking lot closest to the little railroad in Glencoe. From I-44, go north on 109 about 3 miles to Old State Rd., after just a few hundred feet go right on Washington, then about half a mile to the parking lot. From I-64, go south on Clarkson for about 5 miles to Manchester Rd., then west for half a mile to Old State Rd., then south about 4 miles to Washington Ave.

What to bring: Gloves, Sturdy shoes, eye protection, and something to drink on the trail.

There may be a group ride afterwards - weather permitting, so bring your bike if you like.

See who's already registered.
