Sign up today to secure your Limited Ozark Trail Mountain Bike Membership. This Limited Membership is dedicated to raising funds for trail maintenance activities performed by Ozark Trail Association, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.  The OTA’s mission is “To develop, maintain, preserve, promote, and protect the rugged natural beauty of the Ozark Trail”.  The OTA in conjunction with many land managers and owners have built and continue to maintain over 350 miles of backcountry trail in Missouri, all designated as “Ozark Trail”.   Through this limited membership, members are offered the opportunity to participate in the “OT100MTB”,  an Annual Mountain Bike Trail Ride and BBQ event. This special Membership level is limited to 250 total members.

The Annual Ride is a point-to-point 100 mile Endurance Cross Country Mountain Bike Event held on the Ozark Trail through the Mark Twain National Forest in South Central Missouri. The trail ride is 101 miles with 98.5 miles of remote backcountry single track trail with several water crossings and approximately 12,000 feet of elevation gain. The trail surface varies from dirt and gravel to moderately rocky technical trail with miles and miles of ups and downs.   The longest section of road is gravel and only 1 mile in length.  

WARNING - This mountain bike ride will be very difficult and extremely strenuous.  Please ensure you are properly trained to attempt this event. Do not over estimate your ability.  This is remote singletrack.  There are no services along this route other than the listed Checkpoints.  You should be fully self sufficent.  Cell Phone reception is very limited. Filter all water along the course and know your water source. Paper maps and compass are recommended.

  • Event Start Line/Packet Pickup – OT and USFS 2312 (37.43324° N 91.14474° W).
  • Checkpoint 1 – OT100 – 28 Miles – Reynolds County Road 835 (37.57566° N 91.04636° W)
  • Checkpoint 2 – OT100 – 46 miles – Iron County Road 72 (37.68217° N 90.99654° W)
  • Checkpoint 3 – OT100 – 68 miles – Hazel Creek Campground (37.83821° N 91.01568° W)
  • Checkpoint 4 – OT100 – 79.5 miles – Berryman Campground (37.92986° N 91.06282° W)
  • Finish – OT100 – Mile ~100.0 – Bass River Resort

BIKE DROP - We have no desire of becoming a bicycle hauling company so we are going to utilize a mandatory pre-ride bike drop on Friday (9-5-14) at the ride starting point. (37.43324° N 91.14474° W)  We have enlisted some of the Ozarks finest Ticks and Volunteers to protect your bicycles overnight.   Bike Drop opens at 2PM 9/5/14

CUTOFFS - COURSE CLOSES AT 11:35AM September 7, 2014.  That’s a 29 hour time limit to complete the ride.  Don’t think you have the legs to make it all the way? Have a support crew meet you at Hazel Creek Campground or Berryman Campground with camping gear and finish the ride on Sunday morning.  We will have sweepers clear the course. 

  • Checkpoint 1 - Closes at 1:00PM September 6, 2014
  • Checkpoint 2 - Closes at 5:00PM September 6, 2014
  • Checkpoint 3 - Closes at 6:00AM September 7, 2014
  • Checkpoint 4 - Closes at 10:00AM September 7, 2014
    • All subject to change. Final times will be in rider packets.

EVENT PACKETS will be provided when you check your bike at the start.  Inside the event packet will be detailed instructions on what to do next and where to park to meet your shuttle bus from Bass River to the Ride Start.  All riders must ride the shuttle bus from Bass River Resort. (*Two Person Team - special provisions). 

*Two Person Team will be responsible for their transportation between checkpoints. Only the First Rider will ride the Shuttle Bus to the Ride Start. - The Second rider will drive to - Checkpoint 1 – OT100 – 28 Miles – Reynolds County Road 835 (37.57566° N 91.04636° W) to begin their ride after their teammate arrives. A special transition zone will be set up for 2 person teams. 

Checkpoint routes and Turn By Turn Directions will be provided in Rider Packets at Bike Drop.

Bike drop opens at 2:00PM September 5, 2014 - All information required for the remainder of the event will be included in that packet. ( 37.43324° N 91.14474° W )
