Post up here if you plan on attending

Creve Coeur Lake Memorial Park, Bootlegger’s Run Trail Extension

GORC will be finishing the section of trail that was started last spring (with some great progress made last month) along the steep hillside at the North end of the park, heading out and around a peninsula, then exiting the woods near the playground area where the road splits into a 1-way loop. When the leaves drop this section will have scenic views of the lake and valley below.

When: Saturday, November 14 From 9am - 1pm (FREE LUNCH!) - Bike or Hike After !

Where: Upper Creve Coeur Lake Park (Entrance off Dorsett Rd - Follow signs to the meeting area at the North end of the park)
(See www.gorctrails.com/trails/mcrevecoeur.asp.com for directions and details of the park)

What to bring: Gloves, Sturdy shoes, eye protection, and something to drink on the trail.

GORC & St. Louis County Parks provide: Trail building tools, instructions on trail building, and safety guidelines

Please contact Sue Kuhnert at 314-615-8822 or email skuhnert@stlouisco.com if you plan to attend and post up here.

Volunteers will be rewarded with give-a-ways and lunch from Big Shark Bicycle Company.

If any of the GORC people plan on being there but don't want to put it out there on the forum please PM me so we know who we can use for crew leads and special project people.
The Stihl Yard Boss GORC's newest trail building tool will be there to be used. I also plan on bringing a back pack leaf blower to use to clear off the leaves.
THANKS,

Glenn

I will be there. So far we have 14 total SLAG volunteers (including Glen, Perry, Mac, and myself...all GORC members too). I will RSVP to Sue for all of them.

We may have more, I have asked that they let me know for sure by Thursday.

Make sure you bring your bikes for after the workday tomorrow. I rode the trail this morning and it is in great shape. This next extension will give us even more options for mileage and loops.

A Big Thanks to all the volunteers who showed up and worked hard. The weather was perfect and we had 52 people show up - almost half of that number were GORC/SLAG members.

The section of trail started this spring overlooking the golf course and lake is now complete. You can enter/exit the trail just to the right side of the bathrooms (if you're facing them) opposite the 2nd softball field, past the gravel lot, just before the road splits into a 1-way loop around the back of the park. Lots of people were already beating it down after lunch yesterday, so it won't take long to harden up. Enjoy!
